Review: Acciddent in Hubbard's Cave

Brewed by Hubbard's Cave Brewery

American Imperial Stout

ABV: 12%

This is our first review of Hubbard's Cave Brewing and it's fitting that it's their flagship stout. This is a no nonsense traditional american stout with no added flavors like coconut or vanilla.

Accident pours near black like most stouts, with a brown head. You get some coffee and chocolate aromas upon opening and pouring. This is a thick and heavy stout with a high ABV. It is really rich and creamy on the tongue.

As far as the taste, it doesn't lack complexity despite not having added flavors. It tastes heavily of mocha with a warming, smooth, liquor finish. This is a well made stout.

We enjoyed this stout and look forward to trying more beers from this brewery.
