Review: Allagash White

Brewery: Allagash Brewing

Style: Witbier

ABV: 5.1%

"Our interpretation of a traditional Belgian wheat beer. Brewed with a generous portion of wheat and spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel, this beer is fruity, refreshing and slightly cloudy in appearance."- Allagash

Allagash is one our favorite breweries, but we seldom get the opportunity to enjoy their brews. The Allagash brewery is located in Maine; they mainly distribute to the northeastern region of the country.

White is their take on the classic belgian white wheat ale. Brewed year round and a main staple of then Allagash operation.

White pours out a hazy yellow with a 3/4 inch head. This beer retains the head well. The aroma of citrus peelings radiate from the glass as you finish your glass. The flavors are crisp, light, and delicious. Flavoring notes consist of citrus, wheats, spices, and possibly some banana notes. This beer is extremely refreshing while still having a full bodied flavor. Perfect for the summer.
