Pikes Peak Brewing
American Stout
ABV: 6.9%
"It’s a creamy brew with a characteristic roast and nutty malt flavors finish with some lingering spice."
We tried this one from tap at Pikes Peak Brewing in Monument, CO where it is available year round. 6 packs are available September-October.
Summit House Stout poured nearly black with a modest mocha colored head. The aromas this one gives off is of roasted malts, roasted nuts and some coffee notes as well.
The taste for me was almost exclusively toasted malts and coffee for me. It also felt very light for a stout which can be a pleasant surprise depending on when/how you are consuming this one.
This stout didn't blow us away but it was well worth the drink.
