Review: Tin Roof Banana Bread Wheat Ale

A local Baton Rouge brewery bakes up an easy-drinking dessert beer.

Our brewers crafted a base beer chock-full of biscuity goodness–layers of malted wheat, 2 Row, and Vienna & Rye malts folded into Cascade and Tettnang Hops. Creamy banana puree and hearty walnuts punch bold flavor into this brew, culminating in a buttery, nutty, and slightly sweet Banana Bread Ale. 5% abv

Tin Roof just released this beer on 02-18-2021, we are not sure how big the batch was to produce these so make sure to stop by if you are in the south Louisiana area.

The beer has a very sweet but nutty smell. The flavor isn't as strong as we were hoping when ordering, but this is by no means a bad beer.

This is the type of beer you would use to ease in a noncraft beer drinker into the wonderful world of real beer. The nuttiness flavor are notes are present throughout, and we feel comfortable saying Tin Roof accomplished what they were going for.
