Review: Tin Roof's Ambrosia IPA

Baton Rouge brewery delivers a delicious dessert IPA to the Gulf Coast.

Our Ambrosia IPA is an ultra-hazy, creamy IPA inspired by your favorite grandma’s Ambrosia Salad! Chock full of coconut, tangerines, sweet cherries, pineapple, and marshmallows, this brew is packed with 2 Row, oats, and malted wheat. Citra, Azacca, and Centennial hops create a tidal wave of hoppy goodness on the back end of this beer!

Tin Roof is literally located less than 15 min from Bayou Barley; so we spend a lot of time at this wonderful establishment. Of all the Tin Roof beers to come across our glasses Ambrosia IPA is easily the best we have come across.

Pouring a nice golden haze, this beer packs one of the best fruit aromas out there. We had ours off the tap at Tin Roof and didn't get much of a head.

This beer was very interesting to drink. The fruit flavor notes were VERY strong; so this beer didn't really drink like a typical IPA. While Ambrosia was very sweet there was just enough bitterness in there on the back end to please the IPA crowd. To us, the tangerines and marshmallow notes really stuck out.

This was the perfect beer to have alongside our spicy chicken tenders from Southerns Chicken. Southerns Chicken usually can be found outside Tin Roof a couple of Saturdays a month.

If you get a chance to try a Tin Roof beer try to make it the Ambrosia IPA.
